Basic Service Information
• Girls may not earn money as Girl Scouts for another organization. However, Girl Scouts can raise money to buy needed items to donate to an organization. Girls make ask for item donations from people/businesses/etc. for their project but can not ask for money.
• Service can only be counted once. For example: If you are doing service for a badge (older girls) you can't count it as service toward any another requirement. This also applies to religious education or other award requirements.
• Service opportunities should focus on our local community where girls are actually directly involved.
• Track Your Troop’s Total Service Hours! Start now and keep track to make your job easier in June—please begin tracking this now!! This includes all service for badges, projects, bronze, silver, and gold awards, and required service projects. Our Council receives funding based on the total service hours we perform throughout the year, so this is very important to help fund council programs!
